The Hamamatsu backpack from a/u by aunts & uncles is a classic from the JAPAN series. Its simplicity ensures a universal look - whether for the office or leisure, for men or women, this favourite always works! The leather base and the slanted zip make this rucksack something very special despite its simplicity.

The inner values count

The spacious main compartment can be opened wide thanks to the all-round zip, which ensures a clear layout, and is complemented by a padded laptop compartment and a zip pocket. A zip compartment on the front offers space for smaller items that need to be quickly to hand. On the outside, at the back, there is another zip compartment, which is great for storing a mobile phone, for example. It is well protected by the zip and is also difficult for strangers to access as it is so close to the back - but you can reach the contents of the compartment quickly and easily yourself.

Try cosiness

This favourite is really cosy - the padded shoulder straps sit comfortably on your back, even when carrying heavy items. The narrow shape offers generous freedom of movement and the low weight means you can almost forget you have a rucksack on your back.

As a result, these favourites are still lightweight, but are also water-repellent, so that the contents are optimally protected in all weathers.
The applications are made from high-quality cowhide. These favourites are finished by hand.

The favourites from the JAPAN series are manufactured in compliance with the BSCI Code of Conduct, which means that human rights and environmental protection are respected in the global supply chain. The leather applications are tanned with environmentally friendly tanning agents - in a Leather Working Group (LWG) tannery that has been awarded Gold status, the highest accolade for sustainable tanneries.

Care instructions

The material from the JAPAN series is very hard-wearing and durable; minor signs of wear make these favourites your very own favourite companion and therefore unique.
If you do find annoying stains on your favourite, the material can be cleaned with a gentle soapy solution and a soft, white cotton cloth. You should proceed with caution and avoid strong friction so as not to damage the coating.
The material should not be treated with oils or waxes, as this can lead to discolouration.
