Favourites from BECKMANN

The Beckmann company is a family business from Norway. As early as 1946, Olav Beckmann had the idea of designing and manufacturing "good" school rucksacks. When he had enough money, the family started production in their own home. The first models were trialled by the Beckmann children and their friends. The breakthrough came in the 1970s and a dream became reality. It took a few more years from the leather rucksack to today's models. During further development, however, emphasis was always placed on consistent quality features such as high-quality materials, functionality and an appealing design.

Beckmann knows that a good school rucksack should last a long time, the back at best for a lifetime. That's why we pay just as much attention to ergonomics as we do to the use of hard-wearing materials. All products are regularly subjected to thorough and strict controls.

The ergonomic factors are based on child-appropriate requirements, such as weight distribution and freedom of movement. As children grow quickly and their physique is still changing rapidly, a perfect fit and a low basic weight are extremely important. The use of shoulder, chest and hip straps enables optimum fit and stability for every child thanks to individual adjustment.

In order to guarantee the highest possible functionality, Beckmann is in constant dialogue with teachers, but also with the children themselves. Surveys on habits, practical handling and everyday requirements provide detailed information that can then be implemented and perfected again and again.

A lot of playful elements are used in the design so that our children can develop freely and feel completely comfortable and supported with their school backpacks. Magic is the magic word here and it should give our little, big darlings strength and confidence in everyday school life and inspire their imagination.

Last but certainly not least, but no less important, is the reference to sustainability, which is a top priority both in the materials used and in their processing. Beckmann also attaches great importance to social commitment and has therefore entered into a co-operation with UNICEF to support an awareness campaign against violence and child abuse in Norway.
