Beckmann
Beckmann is a family business from Norway. In 1946 Olav Beckmann got the idea of creating and producing high quality school backpacks. When he had gained enough money, the whole family began producing backpacks at home. The first models were tested by the Beckmann's kids and friends. Their breakthrough came in 1089 and a dream came true. It still took several years to develop their present designs, but their key values have stayed the same: High-quality materials, functionality and an appealing look.
Beckmann knows, that a high-quality school backpack has to be durable and spare the back. Beckmann has therefore paid close attention to provide best possible ergonomics as well as to use resistant fabrics only. All products are subjected to tests and inspections regulary.
And the ergonomic aspects meet the needs of a child: Weight distribution and mobility. As kids grow fast and undergo different stages of development, a perfect fit and low weight of their school bagpack are extremely important. Shoulder straps, chest straps and hip belts can be set individually and enable an optimum fitting and stability for any child. To maximize the highest possible functionality, the Beckmanns are constantly in touch with teachers and pupils and ask them about habits, practical handling and everyday challenges. The information is then being put into practice.
The design is very playful to make our kids feel good, free and supported. Thanks to a creative and magical design, kids feel motivated and confident when going to school.
Last but not least, Beckmann attaches great value to sustainable materials as well as social engagement. This is why they have a cooperation agreement wirh UNICEF to raise awareness for violence and child abuse in Norway.
