It all started with a 14 year old scout. In 1950 nature lover Åke Nordin created his first backpack in the cellar of his parents house in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. He wanted his backpack to be comfortable and to meet the needs of a bustling boy who demanded to hike the Swedish mountains. His first very own backpack consisted of a wooden frame, a cotton bag and shoulder straps made of leather. 10 years later Åke Nordin founded his very succesful company and named it Fjällräven. To this day every Fjällräven backback is a real masterpiece and to this day designers focus on the needs and wishes of their customers.
The products regularly get tested in the woods, mountains and during winter-trecking-tours by the team of Fjällräven.
